We have been working on the new City of Hillsboro Website for a couple of months. We like what we have so far. Going live Sunday with the new site helps us stay current with Hillsboro news.
One of the chief advantages is the ability to put information on the site without having to go through a webmaster. This gives us ability to be as current as the moment we write a story.
The site will be developing further in the next week or three! There is a lot more information to add. One of the new features on this site is the tab "How do I?" We will be covering a wide number of items that will give instructions/advice on these topics. For example:
- How can you pay a ticket?
- How do you register to vote?
- How can you recycle?
We have a list of 20+ more items to add. Come and watch how we develop!
Here is the question of the day. Why did we go live with the site when we still have more information to put up? The issue is more related to our ability to keep the old site current. We really can't keep it current at all. Our new site gives us the ability to write an article and paste it in the site administration software. It is so easy compared to what we were doing with the old one.
